this friday we're playing live on air at the record hospital. we'll be playing new songs from the "dark brew" ep, as well as songs off the kidcrash split 7" (narshardaa records), the loma prieta split 7" (coming soon. slave union records 2009) and of course the arthur carr ep (slave union records). we also plan to improvise some interludes, so sit at home, blaze that shit and enjoy the ride.

this is us outside of tom's restaurant, better known as monk's cafe (aka the coffee shop) from seinfeld. this was taken in june of 2007 on our summer tour.

to be honest with you all, since our last summer tour, this band has been struggling to stay together. we lost a lot on that tour and it really took a toll on us individually and as a group. we lost ambition and excitement, and the last six months have been hard for us. we tried writing new songs on multiple occasions to just move along with the band and try and get over this hump, but it just caused more distress for us. recently though, things have changed! we began writing for our next album "DARK BREW", and well, at least i never thought we could be this happy and more enthusiastic about music ever again. we wrote a new song and played it back to back for two hours last week with the biggest smiles on all of our faces. it really set us back to when we wrote "ARTHUR CARR" and how exciting that was for us. this next album is going to be a stepping stone for l'antietam. we have a lot of big plans for the future of this band, and we really can't wait to get started with it all.




the LOMA PRIETA/L'ANTIETAM split 7" will be sent to mastering over the next week or two. we're doing our best to get this out as soon as possible. we haven't released any new songs since the split 7" with the kidcrash so we're really excited about this!! two new songs from each band that will definitely kick your fucking ass.

so two weeks ago, we had practice and derek thought it would be a sweet idea to take mushrooms before hand. now, a few months ago both derek and i took mushrooms before practice and we could barely handle it. he did well this time. i guess...





we have two shows this upcoming week!!! these will be our first shows since december!

the first one is on monday, june 9th in allston, massachusetts.
it's with luau (x-bravo fucking bravo, totally sweet), thou (southern lord reps; wicked heavy dudes from new orleans) and either old people (sebastian from black bear's new band with sean mac from desert sea and some newbs) or some band from cape cod.
the show starts at 6pm and we'll be collecting $3 at the door for some money for thou.

first entry.

we have been on hiatus now since january. we had a first practice last weekend in 5 months!! rj is back from arizona and has a sweet tan. we practice in boston now at my house, which i seem to enjoy calling "the wadzilla mansion". pretty much the practice included: playing through arthur carr once, playing one of the two kidcrash split songs and deciding to drink a few beers and see if we can play them again. this is usually how practice goes. so i'm happy to see that after 5 months of not practicing, we're still up to the same routine.
